I live in a community of 80 homes. A grand total of 2 American flags flew today. You don't have to like or agree with present politics, or whatever else is happening in the world. It might not seem like much to most, but it really bothers a veteran like myself. Show a little pride and thanks for those that have sacrificed a lot for your way of life. It takes a whole 5 minutes to put it up and take it down. Just sayin'...

Ours is flying proudly 24/7 with a photocell switch on the light until the troops come home from Iraq and Afganistan. Just as it did for "Desert Storm"

Agree, but out of the few I see fly the flag, I wish more of them understood the proper handling/display of the flag. My dad is retired 20 years from Air Force and I learned a lot from him. In addition, it was great to see all the support from 9/11 with flags but I sure wish people would quit using an excuse to fly the flag and put one up to show real support. Back when 9/11 occured, it was rare to even see a car without a flag on it or some type of support or something. Flags were all over the place, convenience stores, businesses, houses, on people, etc. Where did it all go? I guess it's not cool to do anymore.

I have flags all over my place! Proud to be an American-
I made a commentyesterday when going into town, that wouldnt it be nice to go down just ONE street- and see flags flying on every house!? I think the most I saw was about 5 on one street----- I have more than that around my place!
My biggest pet peeve is in our WalMart-they sell Mexican flags right next to the American flags. IMO-they should not be available in AMERICA- Bet you cant buy the stars and stripes in Puerto Vallarta!

We fly one everyday and yesterday we had two flying. One is in front of the house and one is on the side facing a street.
One thing that ticks me off is that you don't see as many people stand when a flag passes by. I will usually kick someone’s chair if they do not stand.

I am a 30 year U.S. Army veteran and ours flies 24/7, 365 and is illuminated at night. On POW/MIA day(21 Sep this year), 4 July, Memorial Day and Veterans Day there is POW/MIA Flag flying below the American Flag.

On a separate note, yesterday 4 July I attended a funeral for 1LT Frank Walkup, killed 16 August in Iraq. It was held in Woodbury TN a town of about 2,400 people. The route from the church to the cemetery which was nearly 2 miles was lined with flag waving Americans of all ages. It was a sight to see and one I will never forget.

Yep...many people I see don't know that and I see a lot of flags flying in the dark.

I don't own a flag...that's why one doesn't fly at my home...doesn't mean I do not support our troops, veterans or appreciate the sacrifices they've made for me. Just means I don't own a flag at this particular time.
