This is a subject that I recently learned about.
The Sally-Anne test, is a test that evaluates a person's ability to comprehend that another person can possess knowledge that they themselves do not.
To this point, no animal (including apes that have been taught to communicate through sign language) other than a Human has passed this test.
So, how often while training, do you expect or demand that your dog "know" that you know something that it doesn't?
I know that I have.
In fact, I have even designed training set-ups so that the dog (in my mind) learns to look to me for guidance.
And I often feel that it has been somewhat successful in that objective.
Especially with a dog that tends to be self-employed.
But is that what is really happening?
Do dogs possess a Theory of Mind, or am I just "successfully" anthropomorphising?
