Part of why I haven't been around here as much lately is that the focus of my time has turned from retriever training to growing and developing our other dog-related services as well as start up a non-profit Lab rescue organization -- LIFE IS LABS RESCUE, a spinoff of a small novelty company we started just over a year ago.
We are in dire need of quarantine areas so we can pull more dogs from shelters for both our group and other groups. Our new facility would include multiple quarantine areas as well as living quarters that mimic a home (living areas, couches, tv's, places to hang out) -- we would use the facility to house, rehabilitate, train and place our rescue dogs. This is something we're doing already, but it has created a good bit of pressure on our home and kennel and we have occasionally had to stop intake, which is something that's pretty frustrating when there are dogs going down every day.
January is our last chance to win $50,000 from Pepsi towards a new facility for our rescue dogs. Please take a few seconds to vote every day. We ended December at #18 and we have worked really hard since October to promote our cause (we were carried over each month as long as we were ranked above 100). January starts from scratch and winners are chosen by popular vote -- we need as many DAILY votes as we can get!
