My buddy has earned his Senior title now, and I just got his ribbons. I had to leave right after I ran the test, before I could get my ribbons.
Now we're moving on to Finished and Master.
Can't get over how well he's doing for a dog that just turned 2 in April. He's so fun and enjoyable to train and hunt with.
The funny thing is that he wasn't suppose to be a hunting dog. I got him to take the stress off my YLF who took the passing of my BLM pretty hard. Wanted to train him to keep him active, but my YLF was my hunting dog. A buddy of mine was playing with him in the yard with some birds we had got that morning, he told me that I should really reconsider not hunting him. He was only 6 months at the time, but was completely focused on the birds. Now he's my hunting dog and I'm enjoying an awesome ride with him. What a HUGE mistake that would've been on my part.
He's not only a great hunting partner, he's an awesome dog at home, constantly keeping close eye on my 2yo daughter and new-born twin boys. He lets the kids do whatever they want to him, and he never let's them get outta sight.
