I can't figure out how to reproduce a blind retrieve on the water. For example, I'll try to throw a dummy when she's not looking and then send her on a direct line towards it. She can almost always see the dummy before I even send her. So that doesn't really help with what I'm trying to do.
Other times I try to throw the dummy towards where first base would be and then send her towards second planning to whistle-stop her at the pitchers mound and then send her "over". She generally spots it before I send her and ignores the "line" I send her on and goes after the bumper.
The only way she won't see the dummy is if I throw it really far out there. I can send her on a line towards the dummy but it's so far out she gets half way there and starts swimming around looking for it.
Any suggestions?
