Crazy how little news coverage there has been. Hopefully all the rtf members here are not being affected or overly affected by them.
Texas does not exist if the MSM can not say something negative about it.

Carbon, the town affected is tiny in a very large geographical area. This is not the first wildfire to affect the town. Here is a link to the Dallas News, hopefully it can be opened without a subscription. With so much bad news these days the destruction of 86 homes in a town with a population of 225 seems minuscule compared to the misery from Covid and the displacement of 10 million people in the Ukraine.

Thanks Dr A for the link. I agree it seems miniscule to other world news.
Hopefully everyone remains safe and the fire stays under control. Three of my kids were wildland firefighters, so I guess news of them catches my attn a little more.

Dr Ed, Please make us aware of local aid organizations we can send a check directly to.
No one should lose all their earthly possessions.

It's pretty interesting. Large "prescribed" burns are an important range management practice in this area, but at the moment the humidity is so low that there have been several "non-prescribed" fires in the area which have ended up burning a few structures. This leads to the news having to come on and tell folks that the smoke they are seeing is actually a controlled burn and not to get too excited.
