Do you believe in the moon triggering the rut?

I think is has less to do with the moon phase as it does with timing of the second moon phase after the fall equinox….2nd full moon falls somewhere within middle to last of November. The moon phase people have merely witnessed when things happen and back into their answers. The answer lies either in the air temperatures and/or the shorting days (i.e. lack of sunlight)…the moon phase just happens to line up with the timing.

The rut is keyed in by dwindling daylight hours...same as leaves changing color. Believe it or not, it happens approximately the same time each year for both...and has little to do with how cold or warm it is nor what phase the moon is in.
But don’t the dwindling daylight hours coincide with the fall solstice? I know that warm temperatures will put the rut off or at least slow the rut…at least that is what I have seen I Oklahoma over my lifetime.
