My Tritronics Pro 100 (5 levels) needed new batteries so I received them today from collar clinic. To remove the old battery from the base of the transmitter I had to crank pretty hard and when it came off, there was a small round post sticking up from the base that protruded into the old battery. My new battery doesn't have a hole for the post to go into. This makes for a very tight fight for the new batteries. What is the purpose of the post? Can I remove it to make room for the new battery? Collar Clinic is closed for the day so hoping someone can help me here! Thanks

The post should have stayed in the transmitter housing and not come off with the cover. If you look into the housing, you will see the other post and see that it is attached by a screw to the circuit board. The post that came out with your cover is broken. They are very easily broken when tightening the cover. The purpose of the post is to conduct current from your charging cradle to your battery. Broken post = no charging. This is likely your problem rather than a defective battery.
Uf you try to fix this yourself, be extremely careful when separating the halves if the transmitter housing. It's very easy to break the circuit board where the intensity dial is attached. The halves must slide without trying to pry them apart. This is a challenge because to halves are sealed together to prevent water getting inside.

I'd suggest you send the thing to the CC before it becomes a paperweight and you have to buy a new pro550 and two additional collars.
