1. PAC 10 is overrated big time

2. The Cornhuskers are a lot better than I thought. That Defense is scary. With all the losses at OK and TX, they might be a favorite to win the Big12 next year.

3. It is a travesty that the Mountain West isn't a BCS conference 4-0 (P.S. TCU now has wins against 5 bowl winning teams: Utah, BYU, Clemson, Wyoming, Airforce)

4. The Idaho game single handily change my mind about the bowls. I was for a straight playoff but now thinking that I would have missed that game and after seeing the looks on those Idaho players faces I don't ever want to see the bowls go. I still would be for a "and1" championship game though.

I here ya, Man. Mountain west has had a great bowl showing.

Huskers are back! Last second loses to VT and Texas. Lost 3 of our 4 games by a total of four points. Just a couple of mistakes away from being 13-1. A huge improvement over where we have been in the last 8 years.

Pelini is a straight shooter. He made a statement prior to the bowl game that we will be 5 times better next year. Typically I would just say this is talk. But not from this guy. He honestly believes it.

I knew that our defense was scarry. The thing that I learned from the AZ game was that our offense will get better. The play calling was much better and so was the offensive line. Very promising in deed.

What I have learned from this year's bowl season (so far)....

1) There are some VERY good unranked football teams still playing football...

2) The Mountain West teams are FUN to watch! :D They "lay it out there" as well as any other conference in the country!

3) MOST (not all, but most) of these teams played like they were playing for a National Championship...great for viewers, great for sponsors, great for their schools and students...

4) The University of Tennessee still has a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go to be competitive on a National basis. Lane Kiffen has a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go to be a top-ten coach. He was absolutely classless in his almost-diss of Frank Beamer at midfield after the Va Tech game. His brash style is going to be an additional liability if he doesn't start winning against the better teams in the SEC. He and Mike Campbell (UT AD) will start feeling the pressure soon if they don't turn things around....and by "turning things around" I don't mean simply being bowl eligible....

5) There is still more GREAT football to be played between now and the National Championship game next Thursday. WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE ABOUT COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!:D:D:D

Can't add much to that post, KG. On the money! Ya gotta be impressed with the Mountain West this year. (And that's coming from a diehard Penn Stater) Good bowl season so far. Been fun to watch.

The loss to Iowa State was flat out embarrasing.
Pelini is the perfect fit for the Huskers, but if Lee is still the starting QB next year, he needs to learn to operate under pressure. Lee has great skills and I bet he looks like a world beater in pratice, but put pressure on him in a real game and he folds like a cheap suit.
Yes, the Huskers can score points when Lee has all the time in the world, but look what happens when he faces a Texas type team.
The great news is that even with Shu gone, the Huskers will have one of the best defences in college football.
Can't lose if the other team can not score, but you can not win if your team does not score.
Go Huskers!

The husker's Offence isn't as good as it looked last night. Arizona Defense was OK at best. However, if the defense is as good, and I think Lee is coming back next year that should be good for another 7 points per game or so which is all that they will need.

And, the BIG question;

Will the SEC make it 4 National Championships in a row?;-)

No you mean BCS championship. You are not National champion when there are other undefeated teams out there. Last year Florida was the BCS champion but with an undefeated Utah they weren't National Champs. This year if Alabama wins with a undefeated TCU they will again be BCS champions not national champions.

To put things into perspective, TCU scraped by a Clemson team that got throttled by a mid-tier SEC to end the season. Clemson gave up only 14 points to TCU while giving up 24 points in a loss to 2-10 Maryland if that tells you anything about Clemson. BYU got drilled 54-28 by a 6-6 Florida State squad. Air Force lost to a now 6-7 Minnesota team. Wyoming got whipped 24-0 by 3-9 Colorado. Games like that are exactly why the Mountain West isn't a BCS conference. Also, people want to bring up the bowl record. Well, when there are now 30 bowl games give or take, roughly half of all the Div. 1 schools get to go to a bowl. The MWC has been padding the bowl record with wins against bad teams from bad conferences as a whole. When teams from the MWC start winning consistently against good teams from the SEC or Big 12, then I'd say it's time to look at changing the MWC's status. Even former MWC coach, Urban Meyer, said he thought the SEC would be the same as the MWC when he got the job at Florida. However, he said a few games into his first season, he realized the SEC was nothing like the MWC, that the competition is so tight that the best SEC teams have to be up for every SEC game or expect a loss.

The PAC 10 has been overrated for years. There's no defense in the conference.

That's an interesting perspective. I don't agree with it, but it does have some merit. In my opinion, there is really no TRUE national champion. The conferences are so different and the teams play schedules of such varied difficulty, there's no way to accurately say which team is the best. But I think that anyone who believes that TCU is likely to beat Bama (or Florida) if they played for the national championship is probably not thinking very logically. Just sayin.

Great to see Bobby Bowden go out a winner at FSU,wish he could have left on his own terms but he put FSU on the map, wont be another like him for a long time

Poor LSWho, couldn't beat a team with an 80 year old head coach wearing 35 year old uniforms without names on the jerseys

SEC rules huh ????????

Look out for a Gene Chizik led Auburn team in the next couple of years, if he recruits a playmaker and a QB , War Eagle will be back in the national hunt...loved seeing LSU get beat

and whoever chose these uniforms for Oregon to wear at the Rose Bowl needs to have lasik surgery or a seeing eye dog

Jacob knows lots about CFB?

Well, some SEC team beat T a&m and your Auburn team won. Two out of three ain't bad. Besides, I was talking about the National Championship, going for 4 straight.;-)

Penn State deserved to win.

I prefer that LSU lost, it's just semantics but somehow lost sounds worse than got beat, either way a 7 and 6 record has to make the faithful want to vomit

perhaps LSU apologist Jacob will tell us how the refs stole the game for Penn State
