I talked to one of the people at Avid after finding out my dog had 2 chips. One avid chip was injected as a puppy and I wasn't told and end up having my vet chip her again. Well the 1st chip was in the shoulder were it supposed to be. The second put in only 4 months ago at age of 14months was already in the front leg.
After talking to the man at Avid I was told that injecting it under the skin was not the proper way to insert the chip. This is the second dog I have the chip go down the front leg. So my vet is not doing it proper. We first thought it was the fact that the dogs were getting chipped to young. Not SO.
Avid did however registered the first chip on my existing account for free.
So MY doggie has a backup.
