which e collar?

I will be purchasing an ecollar in the next couple of weeks and i'm wondering your opinions on two specific ones.

Dogtra 1900NCP Field Star

or

TriTronics Sport Combo G3

If any of you have used these please just let me know your opinions of them or if you have had any problems with them.

I got a sport dog collar last night after a friend convienced me. Some people dog them and stuff about not being good, but this guy i know has trained 8 dogs so far using a sportdog collar, he said out of all those times he has had 2 problems and one of the problems he said they work with you really fast to get the problem fixed, the other problem he had was that the collar he felt wasnt workin right so they immediately sent him the most upgraded collar for costumor satisfaction. He said other than that they are very good and easy to use. Also a heck of alot cheaper than other brands when they can do just as good.

The one i got has 16 levels of stimulation, constant, a nick, and a beeper i believe. Its waterproof with a 1/2 mile(800rds) range (wouldnt even need that for any sort of duck hunting in my opinion) and goes up to 3 dogs. I got it for $199.

Your experiance is not consistent with anyone that I personally know that has used Sportdog, or my personal experiance with Sportdog. There is a reason that TT and Dogtra dominate the market.

While I've been contemplating buying the Flyway that's on markdown, I've had my sportdog 800 for almost a year (I know, short) with no problems whatsoever, & it has everything I'm aware of that I need

Have another pup & trying to decide to add on a collar or switch to TT before I get too much money wrapped up to switch. I got the 800 for $99, but I'm thinking longterm TT may be a better option.

Is it possible they've worked out some problems with the sportdog models from the past?

Just tested my sportdog on a meter and it works perfectly out to about 10 yards! I ordered new bats for it thinking that was the problem. 50 bucks later i guess it goes in the garbage, along with my DT. I think i will purchase the G2 that some have recommended. Any other thoughts on the G2 vs the G3? Thanks, john

Buy TriTronics, there is a reason they are number one, Product + Service. Do you really want to put a cheaper electronic device on your dog?

TT is the only thing worth spending your money on

6 months???? try 20+ years of nothing but the best for me with TT
