I have 3 zinger winger g2s with garmin electronics. The release works just fine as long as there is no pressure. Once loaded and bands put on they won't release by remote. Have any of you guys had this problem? I bought them brand new only been used a few times. Now all 3 won't launch. I've interchanged the electronics canr figure it out

I've got nine zinger wingers (field trialer model) that I've acquired sporadically from Zinger over the past four years. I've experienced the same problem that you have with the wingers that are 1-2 years old. I have not had that problem with my wingers that are 3 and 4 years old. It seems as though the new wingers have shorter rubber bands that are putting more pressure on the latch mechanism. The servo is too weak to overcome the friction. I've found that with the newer wingers, I've only been able to operate them on the shortest throw set up position. I also setup the winger such that I slide the release arm (with the hole in the top) so that it only contacts about 1/2 of the retention surface, thereby creating less friction. They've worked fine this way and throw my ducks far enough to be seen from the line.

Oh, and I use both Garmin and Dogtra release electronics. The problem has occurred with both.

Be sure to thoroughly check the wiring for issues. One issue I had once, was right where the wire comes out of the frame through the rubber grommet, is was a pretty tight bend and the wire eventually cracked and then worked intermittently. One I pulled that wire out a bit more, found the crack, fixed it with a splice, it worked fine. I replaced the wiring harness as soon as I could get one in. Do not want to have splices in the wires as that will drop the current down enough to not have the strength to pull the servo. I have had Mini Zinger wingers for several years, have 2 of the most modern version, have never replaced a servo. The Minis are strung tight, and if there is any drop in current they might not pull the servo. I suspect you have a wiring problem. I am sure you have done this too but be sure your electronics are fully charged. I had one receiver that would not throw one winger, but the other receivers would, I have Sportdog, they were in warranty and they replaced it, the replaced one worked fine.

waterdog, I would call Zinger, I have a few times and they were great to work with.

Besides what Nate said:
Put some WD-40 on the whole trigger mechanism especially on the kinda round notched release mechanism.
Check that receivers are fully charged

I have had this problem occasionally and WD solves the problem. Since it has happen to all three, i'll bet this is it.

Come to think of it a long time ago I had a couple of misfires, where the ring on the pouch got hung up on the release. The servo pulled it but the ring did not come off the release arm. Since they changed to the rolling block release never had an issue. Doubt if that is your problem as it sounds as if the servo cannot release it at all.

It is a constant struggle to keep all the equipment operating: zingers, BB, ecollars, box lancher, wz releases, etc.
All require maintenance

Check with Zinger. I had one like that and they sent me a new lever arm and that solved the problem. Also as they age, the aluminum edge on the bottom of the lever arm can become scratched and dinged creating added friction on the clovis pin. A quick sandpaper cleanup and a fresh coat of WD40 seems to fix it. Or the clovis pin may be getting scarred from use. A new pin fixed that problem.

I've had the same problem with mine. I always test it with the pouch unloaded when I set it up, and it fires fine. Then load and go back to the line and - nothing. I did find that the lever had some burrs on the metal and filing it down smooth helped. Also check that the wire is plugged in tight to the receiver each time you load it as it tends to work just a bit loose with each throw. And then put the ring only halfway on the lever instead of all the way to the back. Doing all these has solved MOST of the problem but it still creeps up every once in a while. Also charge it every time you use it. Seems to work best with a completely fresh charge.
