Well we have kept Raven kenneled and crated for about a month now. Everytime I tried to take her walking she was in severe pain for the rest of the day (tried twice and stopped). Her attitude got worse, she wouldn't hang out with the family started snapping at our other dogs when they came around her. She was bunny hopping really bad and acted like it hurt to get up or get down. She seemed to be in constant pain.

Took her to the vet did a tick panel 100% clear, while there since we just switched vets and the gentleman we wanted her to see was out took her again Saturday to see him. He checked her range of motion said it was all good that there was no way her hips where bothering her. He said she seems like she is in pain in front of her pelvis as she tries to sit or walk forward when he presses there. She was also running a temp.

Not sure what he did, thinking she might have had a pinched nerve the entire time. I watched his exam and he kept focusing in the area where she seemed to be hurting. She was a totally different dog by that afternoon. She is playing with the other dogs again, hanging out with the family, and seems really happy again. This is day three and her personality is still normal. I talked to him and he said since she's feeling better to start her exercise again and see how she does. I'm nervous but going to take her out again, hoping the walk tonight goes well with no pain or hopping around.

I'll let ya'll know how the walk goes....

Well took her on a walk last night, her attitude stayed positive and happy and she showed no stiffness or signs of soreness. Now we'll start exercising her again and get back to training when she's ready.

So, what did the vet do?

Glad to hear this. Sounds like he did a little doggie chiropractic on her. My BLF has one more week of kennel rest and she should be good to go. She was limping on the fron right leg. Vet thinks she just strained a tendon/ligiment. Limping is gone, but she still needs to be kenneled for 1 more week.

He double checked her range of motion to double check her hips and she has no problems with range of motion. Since she was no longer limping and her tick panel came up clear he wanted to check for any other sensitive areas.

So he then put pressure on both sides of her spine all the way down to see if she reacted to any of it. She either has a high pain tolerance or is stubborn but won't make a sound or react if you find a sore area. Right in front of her pelvis she would slightly move towards me. So he kept working on that area with his hands. He said to keep doing what we were doing and then bring her back in Thursday for more bloodwork as I took her in Saturday and the lab was closed. By that afternoon she was a totally different dog. Her tail was wagging she was playing with our other dogs again and following me around the house. She's been that way ever since she saw him, I think she had a pinched nerve and he relieved it. I called him and he said since she's fine all of a sudden start her exercise. She got better hours after the vet visit.

It's really hard to explain, here was her symptoms:

She first went in for a limp to her right rear leg. She would hold it in the air and not walk on it for a few days, then would all of a sudden be fine. This happened three times so we took her to the vet and orthopedic specialist.

After seeing both of them she stopped limping turned aggressive and had problems getting up and down and moved really slowly. Neither of them saw any problems and were confused as she was acting like she had a tear or sprain of some sort but her hip x-ray showed her hip socket was shallow and off a little. They said they didn't think that was bothering her so give her rest and start exercising her again slowing and work up distance and speed for 6 weeks. I tried to walk her and she was down for the rest of the night wouldn't get up to eat and was miserable. She was like this until I took her in again Saturday.
