I swear that I did not delete Jerry's classic indirect pressure post as part of the "great accidental purge". I have found links to it on RTF, yet they lead nowhere.

I'll see if we can find it.

In the meantime, through the wonders of search engines, I have recovered the text quoted by the late, great Unca-Jerry as follows:

You send your teenage son to the mailbox. On the way he spots the neighbor’s voluptuous daughter in a bikini (factor). He immediately starts in her direction (succumbing to the factor).


You yell (whistle) Son!!!!!! (Handle). His eyes get back into focus and turns toward you and says “WHAT??” (responding to the whistle) For the Amish folks, you walk up to him and whop him upside the head!!! (correction=indirect pressure). You then say ‘You were told to go get the mail, now do what you were told!!!


That my friends is Indirect Pressure and why it works.”

I miss him too. He had the biggest heart. I don't know how many know that he beat Roy Orbison once in a competition. Being crooned to by Jerry is something I'll never forget. A few RTFers are gone that are sorely missed because they reached out to people beyond posting here.

Somewhere in a stack of old cd's is one with a few Unca Jerry recordings on it. He was a very good singer. If I can find it I'll post some sound bites.

It is really a great way to break down the idea of indirect pressure. I find it odd how some things provide suction, things I never expected. I love watching a series when you can see almost every dog get pulled into a factor, and really love when a dog doesn't fall for it.

It's great for the newcomers to get to reread the rtf classics.
