All of a sudden I've started having problems with range in my Pro 500 collar. I get maybe 50 ft of range total. Anybody dealt with this problem before. And I just changed batteries in both transmitter and collar. Ado the 50 ft is line of site, so I know it's not due to walls, thick brush, etc. even so with all of these factors my collars should get several hundred yards at least. Any help please

I'd first suspect that the transmitter battery isn't taking a full charge.

Can you check it with another receiver? I had simliar issues and if I recall right, it was the receiver itself.

I agree with Brad. Whenever I have had range problems with an e collar it has always been with the internal antenna on the receiver.

Ok so I checked it with another collar and the other collar seems to be working fine. Any ideas on what I need to do with the other collar? And thanks for the replies

I have a pro 500 collar exp g3, works great, holds good charge. $75 plus shipping

Captain has given you an option which you'd probably end up paying about the same to send it in to Garmin for a repair.

Captain I may take you up on that offer. Let me check the finances and. Gordy I've checked with collar clinic and they aren't repairing them because they can't get parts and it cost $90 through garmin to repair it. So it would be cheaper to by one in good shape.

If not mistaken you cannot get an exp collar repaired any longer. Only option is replace.

Went to Collar Clinic web site, looks like they are still repairing pre G2 & G3 Pro 500's, $149.
