Hi all,
We're on our first road trip to Belias, Texas's and need places to stop and air out our dogs. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Joyce
Knowing your route might help.

How many dogs? What kind of vehicle? How many times a day?

I have to say that a little more detail would be useful.

WE travel with 3 dogs in a dog truck and use Rest areas, generally off the truck parking area and let one at a time out. That has worked for us on the western part of your trip many times. Also worked earlier this week to IL, AR, TN, MS, AL, TN, KY, OH and back into MI.

Thanks, but not looking at using rest areas with a young pup...especially when people don't pick up after their dogs...
I usually stay away from rest areas because they seem to have a lot of goatheads, burrs, and broken glass...along with many other dogs that are aggressive and untrained, not to mention many that don't have regular shots or haven't been dewormed

NEver air at rest areas. I go to industrial parks to air

Gonna go thru Virginia,to Tenn, Alabama,Jackson Miss,to Hwy.
20 to Texas...

Thanks!
There is a big mostly vacant industrial park on IH20 in Forest MS near the fairground where I used to air when traveling back and forth to Alabama.

Thanks!EdA
no great places between there and Dallas but there are a couple of big truck stops on IH20 east of Dallas near Terrell, I have found big truck stops to be acceptable places to air dogs as well as new hotels on the outskirts of cities along the way.

I also use the industrial parks when possible. Usually plenty of areas and most times no one pays you much attention. We did however get a no it all North of Des Moines that parked a couple hundred yards from us and then called the police. She told them we were waiting on her to leave as we were trying to abandon the pup? We just had picked the pup up from the breeder for $2500 and we were headed home. Police found it funny but the lady didn't believe us.
