Hold on I'm not ready.... 🍿... Ok, continue.
Very easy Fitz......
If I were to buy a Labrador retriever or two with the intention of making one or both finished gun dogs from puppy-hood, what are all the words and expressions I need ...
LMAO Ken!!!Very easy Fitz.
The words YOU need are...
'What amount should I make the check out for this month?"
That will get it done for you. 😏
It is GDG of course! And what does this mean in any glossary of terms?
Nope try againGoogle Developer Groups??
Position already taken, the in-house Bumper Jock is Polmaise. Then what is the name of the person who throws the marks for retriever training? Bumper Jock?
https://www.retrievertraining.net/got.htm
Bird Boy - (BB) The person, male or female, throwing the item for the dawg to retrieve
I object to the use of boy outside of the strict masculine context.
Perhaps, 'girl' should be used whenever appropriate in terms such as this.
Another suggestion: this website might adopt a comprehensive glossary of retriever-specific, gun dog training and general dog terms and publish it here. This should include voice commands and abbreviations/codes on pedigrees. This should also include tack (grooming supplies, not horse bridles and bits) and dog handling/training equipment.
Examples (by no means exhaustive):
-AKC
-back
-baseball (major leagues?)
-bench
-blind (as a bat?)
-cast (Hollywood film characters?)
-CERF
-CH
-cheat (adultery?)
-cold (ker-CHOOO?)
-command (men's hair spray?)
-dam (no cussing now!)
-dead
-dew claws
-drills (carpenter and dentist tools?)
-FC
-field trial
-finished
-flush
-force fetch
-gundog
-handling (field retriever context)
-head halter
-heel
-hold
-honor
-housebreak
-kennel
-leave it
-line breaking
-mark
-MH
-natural breeding (horse folks call it natural cover)
-nick (did you cut yourself shaving and get blood on your favorite hunting vest?)
-obedience
-OFA
-out
-over
-pedigree (dog food brand?)
-place
-point (how rude to do this to strange people in a crowd!)
-positive reinforcement
-roll over
-shopping (selection of bumpers from a pile)
-sire
-sit-stay
-slip lead
-speak (not bark!)
-started
-steady
-stop (dog anatomy)
-whistle stop (train station of sorts?)
If I were to buy a Labrador retriever or two with the intention of making one or both finished gun dogs from puppy-hood, what are all the words and expressions I need to know to speak canine parlance intelligently? I believe a smart dog owner and trainer should know how to talk DOG smartly.

Good Saturday morning! Please have a double shot of brandy in your Folgers decaf to calm your riled nerves.
Now what about my plan to have a comprehensive glossary of dog speak and retriever parlance HERE?
Sounds like a weener?
You put a link to the glossary in your original post of this thread. Are you not typing yourself for yourself by yourself? Have you figured out what GDG stands for yet?... I still can't find the glossary while navigating this site. . .
.
Talk about offensive, I have been told a Chesapeake of mine was a nice chocolate Labrador. I mean, how low is that?Had a guy tell me my dog was a nice bitch, now that's offensive.... ]
You have obviously never had good Brandy. 100 proof regards.....-PaulBrandy as well as decaf is for sissies. I prefer a good strong cup of mud along with a good straight shot of 80 proof whiskey. I drink 3 cups of coffee before bed time and sleep like a baby. Thought there already was a glossary of terms. Stick around you will learn. Hopefully you have already learned a thing or two.
