Anyone have any idea on what to expect at Farmers seminar.....there doesn't seem to be alot of info in the details given. I guess what I'm asking is will it be anything more than whats on the Basics DVD, which I have.

Thanks in advance

Tim

This will be the first year in 4 years I have not gone to a seminar. No dog to run with, and no seminar that is close enough to make it worth the money and time. I also hate leaving Whistler, so won't travel overnight if he can't go. Most of my friends are fine with that, so he gets to go to the beach and to Ct with me
I wonder why we don't have more seminars at Cooper Black-it is a great setup and it would be fun.
I would have loved to go be a fly on the wall at the different Lardy one this year-I think it would be a blast with lots of fun people!!!!!

What is the minimum number of participants to hold a seminar?
As of yesterday the Farmer/Aycock only had 2 registered, will
they still have it if the entry is bleow ten and still award
championship points?

An Inquiring Mind Regards

Cost, my wife and I both run dogs and both want to attend a seminar but with the cost of the seminar plus travel expenses I would be looking at close to 2000.00 to 2500.00 for one weekend. Just buying a new dog trailer and hoping to run all the fairly close trials I can this year with two additional dogs, I just don't see it happening.

And those 10 must be eligible to run a limited, too....;-)

Stir crazy regards,

I know how to cut that cost in half......send her to Wal-Mart then leave for the seminar before she gets back.:)

I went to the Rorem workshop in FL (Merry Christmas to me!) and it was well worth every penny!! I consider it an investment in my future success and I did not see how I could not afford to go.:D

I would have to agree, I would be limited by the time or distance, cost to get there and the cost of the seminar. Practically speaking, I can use the time to train more at home and use the money to buy more equipment. And, I can buy the DVD for $40.

I have applied to attend my first seminar this year. After reading the thread on selecting the order for retrieving marks I concluded that I needed to do the seminar thing to keep up with the terminology. Who knew there were so many ways to select the order to retrieve the marks?

I do have a question about the Danny Farmer seminar if any one knows. It is a “basics” seminar, but if you bring a dog the dog must have completed basics. Is this typical of seminars; participants can only bring dogs that are trained through the level presented at the seminar?

My wife going to Wal-Mart costs me more than a seminar.

He'd be better off sending her to mow the back yard and sneaking out the front.

Aint that the truth! I have to go to WM or Target with 20 bucks cash and no credit cards/atm or I leave spending $250!

Answer to post: no dinero Paco....putting Luke back with the Arthurs or one weekend seminar...I chose consistent GREAT training. I was excited about living here on the east coast where I could get to a good seminar, but money is tight. I would still go alone if I had the caysh.

Not to diss the west coast...Remein seminars are worth every red cent! If any of you can get to the one this month, go! And I'm sure with Patti cohosting, it will be fun! :D

The Rorem seminars have a "following" now, much like the Lardy seminars... Kind of a "cult" thing. They'll always be full with a waiting list.

The Eckett seminar sounds like a "spin off" of the Rorem seminar... But I think it's going to end up like a "poor cousin"... Pricey too, for what sounds like the same thing..

Basic seminars are always needed,,,, but how many ways can you run the double "T"? With so many books and DVD's along with many "basic" seminars everywhere in the country.. They are a common commodity. It's also pricey for a "basics" clinic. "Basic's" clinics are a dime a dozen.

IMHO

Not a money issue...a logistical one. We had winter pups so as not to interfere with the trial schedule, but we'll end up missing all the seminars. I'd love to go to the Don/Patti seminar down South since it would only be a cheap Southwest ticket and a swing by dad's house to finagle a vehicle. Anyone want to puppysit a very calm, unpoopy, quiet as a mouse litter for a weekend?

It sounds like I might see Mr. Pickering on valentine's weekend though. :)

As far as the Farmer/Aycock seminar, there are all ready 12-15 dawgs entered to attend the seminar. Though billed as a 'BASIC'S SEMINAR' the intent in to go into far more detail then seen on the Basic DVD.
The dawgs involved will also be given hands on experience into transition and advanced retriever work on some great training grounds in Texas.

There are still openings available for those that wish to attend a great weekend of training with Danny and Judy.

Please contact Danny through his web site www.dannyfarmer.com or
936-870-7373.

See you there,
