Ever had a day when you just wanted to throw up your hands and wonder "what is with this dog?!" Then come to find out it was something that you were doing and not the dogs fault? ;)
Yup, one of those days today...... Dogs getting out there 150 + yards on blind and skipping whistles. Corrections didn't seem to help at all. Come to find out after talking to a trainer friend of mine, that my whistle should have been tossed 6 months ago because of tone quality not holding up for much over 3-4 months:shock:
Throwing lots of fun bumpers for the dogs regards:D

My whistle is the same age as my dog. Her ears must change with the whistle cause it still works.

see it often with guys I train with. People tend to bite on the whistle when they blow. This changes airflow and tone over time. Have a friend go 200 yards out in the field and blow your old whistle. Then blow a new one. You may be surprised.

I WAS!

Cheers,

Roy Gonia Orange Pealess whistle - I think I got it like a year and a half ago or so, have used it a great deal(think every day on mutiple dogs/set-ups), and do tend to bite down a lot on it.

btw, does the Gonia MEGA whistle work any better? Looks like it is basically the same one I have with a black thing attached to it.
