I have a young lab (10 months) she ran hard yesterday chasing a kite we were
flying. She now is very sour and seems to be showing signs of Hip Disease..
Has anyone seen the Disease show up in this young of a dog,.

THERE are MANY reasons a 10 month old may limp!!!! Not just HD
Don't jump to a conclusion. Have a vet look at your dog

I concur -- including having a great time chasing a kite. I had a similar thing happen to a pup who spent the afternoon chasing the water from a sprinkler as it went around and around. Chasing kites and sprinkler discharge involves a lot of twisting and turning.

We had our gal checked out and the vet said young bones and muscles are not ready for too much a fun thing.

I hope you dog gets back into actiona shortly.

As others have said - it could be something else.

I did own a lab that went for his first puppy hunt with my husband (6mos old)...couldn't get up easily after resting at home. Xrays determined that he was the worst class of HD...

that's about the age that HD does show up, but as others have said, don't assume the worst, it could be just about anything.
Good luck, let us know what the vet says.

echo what everyone else is saying.

In regards to your question on Glucosamine, I use it as preventive right from when they are a pup all the way thru for healthy joints, they grow a ton from a pup plus the mileage dogs put on thru training, great maintenance.

If you have a dog that is losing its mobility or is suffering from joint pain, introducing a Glucosamine supplement can definitely be of benefit
