We will be hosting a Governor's Cup picnic trial on Saturday 7 May at 8:00 AM.It will be in the Norco spillway and a picnic lunch will be provided. There will be a flier shot for every entry. You may run in contention for the CUP or not in contention ( reasonably) . Larry Anderson and myself will judge, and the tests will be indicative of an Amateur AA field trial. The entry will start at 7:30 and will be $30.The are no premiums to fill out. There may be a RSVP forthcoming ...I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the date !Lets have some fun :D

Good to see the return after several years in limbo!

The Governor's Cup Trophy stands about two feet tall with this on top.
Back in the 1960's when the trophy was first awarded, Labs had straight tails as can be seen by the model used by the person that casted it.

It has always been owner/handler. It use to be in the By-Laws unless it was changed. There is a section that reads why the Gov Cup was started and the intent.

Who is in charge of polishing that sterling silver trophy?;-)

Frank, would you happen to have a copy of the by-laws? would like to get a copy.
I gave them to Dink in 1982 when he became President of the club.

I have By-Laws from other AKC Retiever Clubs if you just need a guideline for new by-laws.

The AKC should have them on file.
