Won't this ever end? Next week the temperature forecast for highs is between 106-110. Tuesday is forecast at 110 with the overnight low of 86.

I have good shade in my kennels and change water every two hours.

Just noticed that too,it is going to get real ugly. But hoping they are wrong thurs they said we had a chance fri,sat-sun. Allready had 2 pond dry up and my cows are spending soo much time in the water won't be long untill the others dry up.

Talked to my brother -lives just North of Dallas. He said it's so hot that he saw a squirrrel using tongs to handle his nuts.

Dern Hot regards

No kidding!

There might be hope sinceed there are two tropical depressions coming off africa due to hit US 7 days apart...

This is our first summer at the house NW of FTW, our back yard is a little more than a half acre and we haven't made any improvements to the back half so it's kind of a wasteland. Trailers parked out there, rock pile, and the sprinkler for the aerobic system.

Yesterday a little late in the evening we were cleaning up out there and I notice these huge cracks in the soil, I got a tape measure to see how far they went down and to my astonishment most were well over a foot deep a few over 2 feet deep and one went down 38 inches, unbelievable.

In one of the larger cracks we put a hose in and started running water, I watched for several minutes and nothing, I guessed it would bubble up by then. So we left the water on and came back out a couple of times and nothing. The last time was at a half hour and no signs of any water I would guess we put 75 to a 100 halons of water in there, it's an abyss.

We are now in second place for hottest summer of all time and less than 2 weeks from being the hottest of all time.

It's ridiculous right now isn't it? One of the worst droughts ever recorded for our state.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a tropical depression or storm that causes little damage, but dumps massive amounts of rain. We need all we can get at the moment.

It's official now every day on July ay or above the century mark. Bring on the dog days of Aug.

Yes, and they are real hard on dog's legs and feet...if you can stand to train at all!

We're going north and brave the mosquitoes for a while and hope the heat doesn't follow us...

My dogs are in SD right now, it's 84 there and 104 here.

I wish I could afford to send me there!

We hit 102 in Rapid so far today. Suuuuuccccckkkkkksssss!

I know our neighbors don't want any TS or Hurricanes, but hat might be the only way to get some rain. It's pretty bad when my water bill is more that my electric bill and I keep my house at 72 degrees.

Just heard our average hi for July came in at 103 with 28 days exceeding 100. At least I don't have to water my foundation like alot of you in Tx.
