AKC registration question

I have a 3 year old lab that I have hunted with and trained. I made the mistake of not following any program. I am at the point where I need somebody to help me so she gets better. This weekend I stopped and talked to a guy who runs the local retriever club and in mid March they start training every Saturday and have a bunch of new guys coming. Sounds good to me so I told him I would join the club.

He told me this summer they have some hunt tests and if I wanted I could enter her. He explained it to me and I am might want to try it. He asked if she was AKC registered. Her parents were and I could have registered her but never did because I spayed her and was never going to bred her. I never had a clue about these tests you needed an AKC registration or even that I would join a club.

My question is how hard and expensive would it be to get her registered. The head of the retriever club said it costs more the older they get but didn't know how much. I think I still got her puppy papers around here somewhere. If it is a big hassle I might just train with them on Saturdays and skip the tests. Anybody on here know how I could register her and how long it takes, I probably wouldn't do it till I decide to do a hunt test.

From the paperwork I have in front of me, you'd have a $65 late fee on top of the regular $30 registration fee, that's if you can find the original or have the breeder get a replacement registration form. Being that she's already spayed, you can instead do their PAL program for $35 and you'd still be able to do hunt tests... https://classic.akc.org/reg/ilpex.cfm
Just did one $95 for standard registration
