Dogtra 1200NC Question

After many many years of trouble free use, my dogtra was no longer holding a good charge (understandable). Was refreshing to learn that the batteries are user-replaceable, and very easy to change out. However, the collar is now WAY too hot. even at '0' it is still very hot. No way would I put this on a dog like this.

? Can the overall range be turned down (i.e. so zero is zero and max is lower) ?

FWIW, the dial functioned fine before changing the batteries.

Would just like to avoid packing/shipping it off if there might be a DIY adjustment/fix available. Thanks!

I don't have them (or the collar) with me now, but yes, the batteries are the same style/size. I'll have to double check all spec info when I get home, but when I purchased them they were supposed to be a direct match/replacement.

In your experience, was there no other solution or adjustment (vs. just keep buying batteries, and trial / error)?

Just to follow up on this. I received a replacement transmitter Battery from the battery dealer and it resolved the issue. I now have 0 stimulation when dial set at zero, and can gradually go up from there (i.e. how it is supposed to be). I don't know much about electrical specs, but assume that first replacement battery was kicking out to many volts.

So my trusty old dogtra that is ~ 14? years old is still working fine again.
