Well ..... ..we have lost another fine dog man today.....we all knew Herb had been going down hill these past few years. BUT, Each spring and fall as the trial season would get started Herb would seem to get a second wind. He would always come off line and give me a wink and tell me to "work the box" or something encouraging.

Herb and I have spent many a weekend talking about dogs and the game we love, called field trials. He could be a little tough on the judges if he felt his dog was not judged fairly...but he had a kind heart and was always there for me and his friends.

Herb won a double header, and finished a National. He could tell some of the best jokes and or stories you will ever hear at a field trial. He could come up with some of the funniest toasts when we were having a cold one..

I will miss you GOOD friend!!!!!!!!
