How late is too late?

At what age would you think is too late to start training for hunt tests? Say the dog is 3-4 years old and has little to no training (basics are sit and come), but absolutely loves to retrieve. Max distance they've been introduced to in marks would be about 70 yards. Never been force fetched. Too late? Never too late? I'd like to see peoples opinions. I've already formed my own opinion, but I'll save that for later.

It's never too late to train a dog to do anything new! I find my dogs like retrieving even more when there are rules and structure because they know exactly what's expected of them.

Echoing all of the above, if your having fun and your pup wants and is physically capable of participating , then it's never too late.

The older junior and senior dogs are usually crowd favorites, mainly due to the fact that the handler and pup are truly having a good time together.

Good luck and have fun!
