I've got a pup that is 5 months old. She will eventually be bred (if her training keeps progressing). Is it too young to get the hips, joints, and eyes certified?

She has already been microchipped.

You can get her eyes CERFed anytime. OFA will issue a certificate after they turn two.

While OFA needs to wait until the dog is two, you can have PennHIP studies done after four months. I actually prefer these and do them on all my dogs at four months. I then do OFA hips and elbows at 24-26 months. CERF exams are good to do early and then should be repeated annually.

We usually wait to get preliminaries on their hips until they are at least 9 months old.

Thanks. Looks like I'll wait until she's about 18 months. The reason that I was asking was because the eye exams have to be scheduled about 12 months in advance. The veterinary eye doctor comes to town once a month for a day and stays pretty booked up on those days so it takes a while to get in. I was going to get the joints and eyes done on the same trip.
