Issue with McAfee - charging credit card

Just FYI I had an email alert that stated McAfee had charged my credit card for a subscription renewal - now I have no problem paying and updating my account with McAfee, but I do not like the fact that McAfee just automatically charged my credit card with out any permission from me. They automatically add this "feature" to your account when you renew the first time. So if you are like me and keep an eye on your credit cards and do NOT like some company charging you without your knowledge, you might want to see if McAfee was "kind enough" to provide you with this "service" too. They should of just sent me an email reminder to renew my account, not just charge my account - that also means they are storing and using my credit card information!

I hate that! I had a company do the same after they had a problem mailing me a shipping invoice becuase my mailing address is different than physical street address(Purolater ships to your door). I promptly contacted them and said that it is illegal to charge a credit card without signature and permission and next time a call would be made to my credit card company informing them of a fraudulant charge being made, and thus a refund of the transaction. I told them that a simple e-mial or phone call would be appreciated! I mean "crap" I'm getting e-mails and phone calls from credit card companies every other day, they not someone who your already paying fpr services?

That's basically what I told McAfee - the other aggrivating thing is you can not deactivate this feature on your account via their website and you can not remove your credit card info either!! All they had to do was send me an email to remind me to update my subscription and I would of, but to just charge me....BS!

Ya!! Let that be a lesson to you young lady. Do like the rest of us and get your virii first hand from Symantec. That way you won't even be able to get on line to check your credit card charges.

Do it right the first time regards

I HATE McAfee!!! When I got my laptop, McAfee wouldn't work right with the wireless we have in the house. I spent countless hours on the phone with some clueless support people in India. They had my laptop so screwed up, I had to get professional help to fix it ($$$).
The professional took off the McAfee and installed a FREE virus/spyware protection and it has worked flawlessly(even when my son visited some site he shouldn't have.)
The software he put on is called Avast! and it works GREAT. I will ditch a company whose support is overseas any time I can.
