Ok looking at the KRD drill wouldn't it be beneficial too run two or three peat blinds off the side of two singles before transitioning to real world setups. Running it like two peat behind the gun on a left hip pocket. Or even a peat under the arc befor adding that third gun?

I'm not sure what instruction you're looking at for KRD, but my lay outs only have one gun. What are you trying to accomplish with it?

I base my variations on this basic form.

KRD is a nice flexible drill for Transition, as well as for maintenance. But if you're looking to move forward, you'll probably be better off just showing your pup some simplified variations of diversion marks with standard concepts at relatively short distances, and keep proximity wider at first. As he shows he's getting the idea, add length and tighten things up a bit at a time. Read the dog, and advance him as he shows readiness.

I love drills. But they have a limited scope of usefulness in general. They're great for establishing skill. But you need to understand when it's time to move on to real work...real set ups. You may not be there yet. But only you can know that.

Ok I understand but if you need to repeat the concept of the blind for any reason you thank it's better to move to a new locatiion and run another cold setup ?
If you believe you need to repeat it, your dog doesn't have the skill yet. That's a read that you may have moved on too soon. On the other hand, I believe too many people are inclined to repeat far more than is appropriate, instead of running numerous set ups with the same concepts, and run them cold so the dog advances. Mr. Carr often spoke of this frequent repeating as "salve for the handler." It makes the person feel good, but does little for the dog.

That's what I said right? Well that's what I trying to say at least. :)
That's pretty much the point. I like the creative way you're approaching it. Keep plenty of marking going while you do this work.
