What's the best neoprene cement for a dog vest?

Seal cement; black.

I have used AQUASEAL(made by McNett-Bellingham ,WA) for my chest waders/hip boots, clothing etc//for decades. Their material construction is varied and waterproofing was essential. Dog vests materials are equally different based on cost/manufacturer. Aquaseal has worked for me...punctures/barb wire/abrasions/patches.

Aquaseal isn't in the same game with neoprene cements, like Block/Seal, for use in tailoring neoprene dog vests, as "neoprene cement" will melt the neoprene edges and essentially weld the new seam together quickly enough that it's no burden to hold the edges together while it works. (Pretty sure Seal Cement is the same thing as Block/Seal and have some on hand for an upcoming vest tailoring.) And I've yet to have one of those seams separate, even though I don't bar stitch, let alone completely stitch the new seam, as is necessary to hold one together while Aquaseal slowly dries.

Not knocking Aquaseal for some other applications. Have some thawing now (best stored by freezing after opening) to redo a breathable wader seam that the tape's letting go on.

Rick Hall #11...There is a difference between mending a a vest/etc.. and making one from scratch. I understand the difference. I have NEVER used a vest on my Labs from ND to MN to MA. September to January (1977-2016). Never hunted south of the Mason-Dixon line. I also hunt with out any collars of any kind. They are either tattooed or micro-chipped because of the danger of getting hung up. Two of my dogs were natural underwater divers. Too much ice/cold-no dogs.
