My 6 yo BLM started to limp in his front left shoulder/leg a bit before the Grand last fall Subsequently it got a little more pronounced and didn't subside too much after a week or two of rest. We had him x-rayed to see what was going on. Fortunately, elbow dysplasia was ruled out but he does have some "degenerative joint disease" in the form of osteoarthritis. We've gotten some weight off of him and we're giving him Dasuquin. He does pretty well but gets a little stove up in the evenings Any suggstions?

Have the same issue with my 10 1/2 year old boy started last year the same as you describe. Vet put him on 7.5 mg meloxicam daily and that helped for a year. After a duck hunt this year he was hobbling around something awful. Just finished with 6 lazer treatments last week and he is much better a small limp after light exercise. I am afraid tho that he is retired from pheasant hunting. I wish I had known about the lazer treatment a year or two ago as it may have had more effect.

Our orthopedic surgeon told me he gives his dogs (Boxers) Osteo Bi-Flex. I've also had good results from Adequan. I recently started my dysplastic girl on Turmeric. They say its anti-inflammatory effect is as good as Rimadyl without the side effects. Jury's still out on that, for me, but I figure it's worth a try before I risk damaging her liver. I *think* it's helping her. Arthritis sucks!

clients who have switched from Dasuqin and Glycoflex report a positive response in as little as two weeks

Had been using something with glucosamine chondroitin and MSM for a 5 yo CLF that was diagnosed with mild bilateral HD at age 2. Switched to a product with perna and have seen good results in 3 weeks. Not limping when she gets up from a nap anymore. We will see how she does after a hunt soon.
