Anyone know what this plant is? It grows verically, has conical flowers (which don't seem to bloom) and is now starting to turn red.

Thanks guys.

I looked at the pics of rough pigweed and that's what I think it is.

Thanks stan for the laugh....I was pretty sure it wasn't any "weed" but you never know. Four years ago, they found about 6 acres of it growing in the corn about 3 miles from my house. Never know what the birds might bring in!! ;o)

Pigweed, for want of a better term - Weedmaster really does a good job on it - Don't let it go to seed .

Not too many pheasants on my property but the Hungarian Partridge are having a heyday.....they are BACK in BIG numbers here. Plus the "crazy birds" (quail) and the doves, plenty to shoot out my back door without the presence of pheasants.

Ok I looked at the pigweed pics and decided that I have pigweed not millet growing in my yard, then I looked at the amaranth and whoa! Maybe its amaranth! Then I see that amaranth and pigweed are one in the same, halleluiah!

How did it get in my yard? I could feed all of Bangladesh if I let it grow.

Grass is getting cut today.....give me a call if anyone wants some of the fresh organic stuff packaged up and sent out. It's being run through the chopper so, no long stringy poopy danglers. Cut into bite sized pieces that pass.
