Yikes !!! I'm thinking 11, but who knows, hopefully by 7 or 8 am ??? There are 6 really nice pups now nursing with KD. 4 females and 2 males. One of the females is yellow.

Thanks to all of you for your good wishes, hopefully I don't fall asleep, but of course if I did, KD would take care of things anyway.

We actually got a Dozen. Guess that 13th puppy was not meant to be. KD listened to me when I said "that is enough" The 12th pup is a real blessing, because the client that gets that yellow male has been waiting a LONG, LONG time for a yellow male out of KD.

This has really been fun (the RTF posts). Now the fun is really beginning., but KD is such a super mamma she will make these first few weeks pretty easy.

There are some pictures on the website. The average birth weight of the litter is 13.3 Ounces. This is a fantastic litter !

Marty: Your a lucky SOB! We tried to repeat the breeding of Cali to Rascal doing an AI with fresh semen. The old boys legs won't support him long enough any more. I think we were to late ultra sound at 26 days showed no pups. I guess you going to be taking care of 11 of them for a few weeks. Terry

 

I am going to go with 11- 13. Holy Smokes that is alot of puppies! If it isnt tied down it will drug off! In fact with that many.......they probably will drag it off anyhow!

 

How cute are they..Poor mum looks exhausted....oooeeeer just wait til they're four weeks old and escaping all over the place :mrgreen:

 

Take a look at our Video Page. We have a 4 week old litter, who happen to be KD's grandkids...........they are driving their mamma crazy. Can't keep them in the whelping box, but of course we just love seeing those pups with that much drive. Actually this group is so smart that they have figured out how to get out of the box and then back in. So Xxam has no chance of getting away from them, except when I just let her hang out with me in the office.

I am very sorry to anybody that thinks this is an Advertising thread. Both litters that have been discussed in this thread were sold before they were born. That is all but 2 pups, but who ever expects to have 12?
I was just having fun with this fantastic litter.

As I have a KD pup (Yanka Tanka all pistons firing aka DARLING, pathetic, but I simply love him) I have looked forward to hearing how KD has been getting on. Nevertheless I do understand the mods concerns.

Would love to add a couple of videos, after pups are sold.

 

My kids have just watched the puppy videos and seen the new pup photos.. they said to tell you that you are a very lucky man to have all those cute puppies.

 

Before the thread dies...

I just want to say it was really interesting to see the xrays of the pups. Also I kept checking the thread to see how many pups came out. I thought this was a fun thread.

 

I spoke with Marty and I truly believe that he was not using this thread to advertise. I had fun trying to count the skulls (I missed one ) and I think it was interesting for a number of folks who have never had the experience of trying to count the number of pups from an xray.

 

Hear, Hear, Vicky.. my kids loved this thread, it was fun..

 

I have tried counting skulls and spines several times, but never where I could load the xrays into Photoshop, enhance the image, and mark the pups I found. I think I'll strongly request digital images for my next set of xrays. It was good and educational sport and a reminder to all of us that it's a little harder to predict the number of pups in a litter than one might think. Thanks to Marty and congratulations again.

I didn't even look. My vet has miscounted the last two x-rays. He did count low both times for what it's worth.
