As i've read and reread Post 3,5,9and 13 are all belittling comments toward the breeder.

Sparelink shows no intimidation and voices his/ her opinion and he is told to calm down because he's a newb that isn't in the click.
People come he like myself, green and looking for advise, then you have senior members being negative toward them. Some questions might be stupid, other not but if you don't know the answer and are asking an honest questions, just help a fellow member out.

I have not been a member here long but have lurked for about a year now and I see a common them of people not responding to the questions asked but threads turned into things that are irrelevant to the original post.

I don't care if you agree with me or dislike my breeder or litter or even if you dislike me, you were all in my boot at one point and someone had to help you out. I have done my research and read my books, but there are still questions that I have. I come to you to get your knowledge that needs to new spread to others otherwise this sports and lifestyle will die out. I just ask that you show some pride in yourself and help someone that is here to learn and not turn them away with negativity.

Jared I hope in somewhere in the replies you have received you have found the answer about the colour. With the chocolate back through the pedigree the puppy you are looking at is black with a chocolate cast to the coat. I have a friend that breeds and only wants black or yellow he freaks when he see that chocolate cast on a puppy but it has nothing to do with the the talent that pup will show. As far as the white nails/claws it has been pointed out that they need to be clipped. You stated that this is the breeders first litter and that they have done their homework as far a pedigree. Everyone who breeds was a first time breeder at some point and there is sure a lot to learn about after care for pups and dam. I don't think people wanted to disparage your breeder and I think that some of the comment might be used to educate for further breedings. You have two great pups to choose from, watch them, talk to the breeder who sees them devlop everyday and pick the one that fits you best. Good luck.

Jerred, welcome to RTF. Part of your issue lies in the formatting of your original question. Had you only asked about color/shade variations within a litter having any impact on a puppy, then you'd have gotten responses more in line with what you sought. However, the way you phrased your question painted the breeder a bit unflatteringly. Breeding is taken seriously by many on here, yes, and when there's a warning flag, there's going to be a response, that is the nature of the passion we have for our dogs. Dogs first, people's feeling second. You need tough skin to be in dog games, right or wrong, because people get pretty amped up about the care and well-being of the dogs. Always been that way on here, and peanuts or not, there are still some who will type first response for the dogs regardless.

The pups are both black. White nails can be easier to trim without hitting the quick - don't know how experienced you are with nail trimming. Puppy nails grow fast - just like the puppy! The color or shade difference of the coat has no bearing on health problems down the road. Just pick the one you want based on personality, looks, or whatever criteria you use. Have fun with your new puppy!

Glad you posted the picture! It helped to answer your questions.

Darker dogs can have clear nails? Where do I invest in this trait, I'd love to change my nail fighters claws to blonde, trimming would be much easier. ;)

Here you go. Let the negative comments begin.
I don't think its a bad breeding. A lot of talented dogs in the pedigree and you'll probably get a good pup that will meet your goals. The dam had a chocolate sire (Bueller is a nice dog, I've used him as a stud before.) The grand dam is a full sister to FC AFC Land Ahoy so the breeder may have been hoping she was chocolate factored? You only posted photos of the females were there ANY chocolates in the litter? My guess is no or there wouldn't have been confusion about the muted black. Hopefully there are health clearances and as others stated, I would just chose the pup YOU like the best and roll with it! You might get her color DNA done later to see if she carries chocolate, if it's important to you?

No other chocolates and I don't care either ways if they have that gene. Health clearances are good too.

Ya know what? YOU are right.....I apologize for being less than helpful.....
