I sent my dog to a pro and he did the mini T through pattern and cold blinds. She always has had a thing about looking in the direction of a cast and then making me recast before she takes the cast. I was told to redo the double T and go through to the pattern blinds and cold blinds. I want to eliminate the avoidance and get an HRCH out of her if I can. Its my own fault for throwing to many marks. The 39.5/40 and second place ribbon wasn't worth it. Any help would be appreciated.

Throwing marks doesn't cause avoidance and I don't think you can throw too many marks.

Redoing all of that you mentioned is bad advice.

Obedience sessions, games, pile work and maybe bird boy blinds is where I'd work in getting the dog to make and maintain eye contact with you.

If I understand the problem, you give her an over cast and she looks the direction of the cast but doesn't move. You have to repeat the cast before she goes.

That would be to many corrections (or to harsh).

Have you tried waiting her out. Give the cast and just wait. Hopefully, if you don't give another cast she will take off. If not, you could go to her, give a "heel-nick-heel" to move her up a foot or so. (that puts a hot spot behind her) Then go back and try the cast again. It may take a bit to get her to stop waiting for a second cast.

I will give the cast and she will look in the direction of the cast and then stare at me. She also stops about 30 yards out on a line. I need to extend her line and get her to take a cast. Double T is what I was recomended to do at a training day. She wants to hunt it herself and is having trouble with my directions.

No, popping (stopping by herself) is confidence. She's not sure or is afraid to go in fear of correction.

The not taking a cast may be some of the same but hard to tell. During transition, simplify and be very patient.

When you give the cast, try taking a small step, as to get give the cast again without moving your hand.

Be patient and make sure you identify lack of effort vs lack of understanding before using a correction.

A Boykin?
so what exactly is the problem? she's just facing the direction you're going to send her before you send her? Are you talking about on blinds or T work?
You and Phil are my top guys I look at for Boykins. I will send her, then whistle stop her. I will then give the cast (occasionally momentum, but mostly verbal) She then turns around and stands in the direction on the cast, almost trying to see the bumper. She then turns back around toward me and I recast and she takes it or makes me repeat the steps. I was thinking of redoing double T. I would then establish pattern blinds in my new yard and do walking base ball and wagon wheel/eight handed casting. Then work on cold blinds. She is two and the goal is by 4 to have the HRCH.
