The anti fatigue mats are good for letting mud and water get off the dog. A cheaper version is to find a door mat with the holes in it like the fatigue mats. I have 3 I got at the local dollar store that work great.

If my dogs are going to be spending long periods in the box, I put thier Avery mats in to give them some cushion. Occasionaly we're on extended hunting trips where the dogs sleep on the truck and I think it gives them a better rest.

I got an anti-fatigue pad from Home Depot and cut it to fit my dog's kennel. It's soft, will drain water.... but boy does it STINK!!! It's OK when it's in the back of my truck, but this weekend I won't have my truck and I'll be driving in an SUV with the crate in the back. I was starting to get a headache from the smell... and this makes me wonder how it affects the dogs olfactory sense...

Doe the pads from Lowes stink? This one says it's made from natural rubber.
The Lowe's grey pad is fantastic. It is in a crate in my Honda Pilot and I never smell it.

I have the Avery pads in each of my dog's crates. The best thing about them is the ability to take of the cover and throw it in the wash when it gets a little stinky. One wash inside out, and one wash regular side out and the smell is gone. They have definitely helped the dogs elbow patches, all the patches have become smaller since I started using them.
