Just recieved this info:

"We have been notified by a reliable source that HSUS will be conducting
a raid in Wisconsin. They are timing it to coincide with the
legislators coming back from break and the breeder regulation
legislation being taken up. Please advise your breeder friends to be on
the lookout. HSUS does not have police powers. If they show up with
law enforcement they still need a warrant. Do not sign over your dogs
as they do not have authority to negotiate charges. They do not have
the power to seize dogs in this state. Make sure no trespassing signs
are visible. Contact your attorney for emergency numbers to contact and
advice, should they appear at your property."

Sure wuld be nice if they hit the puppymills instead of those of us who care.

The HSUS puts pictures of cute little puppies and kittens on donation cans and people give money to them thinking that they are helping the puppies and kittens, but they are not. The HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) does not own or operate a single animal shelter, nor do they fund them. They are a radical left-wing political lobbying organization and that is all. They work toward banning all hunting, fishing and breeding of dogs. They go arm in arm with PETA. PETA's former president is the president of the HSUS. Two lying peas in a pod.

If you want to help the puppies and kittens give money to your local animal shelter.

To hell with the HSUS.

The best description I've seen of the difference between P*TA and HSUS is that HSUS is P*TA in suits. There is not difference between the two groups in terms of their desired goals....only their tactics.

This group is a leader in getting the wolves put back on the endagered species list here in Wisconsin, but also Minnesota and Michigan. The wolves are over 5 times their original target numbers overall and have been released from this list twice just to have this and a few other groups sue the USFWS. Near the upper pennisula of Michigan where I happen to deer hunt herd numbers are drastically down. Not only is this a problem with deer but it greatly affects other predators such as bobcats for example that do not have the neccessary resources with to live due to the current size of the wolf population.

It's sad that between 7 guys last season we saw twice as many wolves than deer. There's been plenty of dogs and farm animals already killed in that area. Reportedly they have come as far south as Stevens Point. I can't wait til they get to some metro area and raise hell with some people to wake them up.

The humane society is a just as "over the top" as PETA...

I will give food to the local shelters.. Never to the Humane society of the us..

The restrictions on the humane society contract is crazy! no wonder they have to put down so many, as they make it impossible for some perfectly good homes to be approved...

Thank you for posting this Terrie. I was just on DFOW's website today looking for an update.

Yes, one of the regulations is everytime you transport a dog you must sanitize the crate or dog box, and there are provisions for seizure if it is deemed there is cruelty, which could be anything from not recording the vaccines you gave and the lot number, dogs not being exercised outdoors for 240 min a day-yes in winter. Even the best boarding facilities would not pass these requirements. The head of the board making the rules is trying to push through her rendition of the rules without the board meeting to review them after they spent about a year compromising on the rules, and don't think Ms Ribbens ultimate HSUS goal is to end all breeding of purebred dogs. Wisconsin dog owners write letters even if you don't breed!!!

One step removed from PETA me ARSE! They are a much bigger threat as they are nmot clowns like the PETA"S but work insiduously making themselkves to appear as a mainstream outfit like your local Humane Soc.
We are breeding a young lassie and lad this week and they best stay away from my place- signs are up- guns loaded and my lawyers(son & Daughter in law) will be here starting today.
I ain't a really "breeder" but still hate those folks as they would not only stop dog breeders but also ruin our local dairy farming economy.

Breeders on 25 or more dogs today- breeders selling one or more tomorrow.

Send a letter. Anyone in Wisconsin needs to send a letter. The advisory board spent a year making up these rules and in a nannosecond the head of the board Ms Ribbens changed the rules back to her HSUS agenda and is trying to shove them through without the rest of the board's approval. This woman came from another state and bought a Dal from Gerald Schultz, which was pretty darn stupid, and now she thingks she is an expert on raising dogs and dog care. Don't think she won't eventually want to shut down everyone that breeds a litter and don't think you are hidden from them as they have been scanning newspapers for over 5 years. They claim they will be self funding to carry on these inspections-well, think where they will get the funds... FROM FINES. Don't let this become law! Send a letter to send it back to the board.

Chris ,
While I don't live in Tomahawk anymore(where I grew up) my family still does and are all active hunters. Actually north in Oneida County. The "bear' population does MORE damage to the deer population than the wolves. In fact, we saw coyoutes this yr. during gundeer season rather than wolves which wouldn't happen "IF" there was an active wolf pack controling that area.
Bears are very intuned to the newborn calls of newborns deer and go in for the kill.We loose lots of fawns every yr. because the bears are over populated.
Just an FYI in that area.

Amen. I went through the roof when I was visiting my parents, and saw my mom had donated to the HSUS, thinking just that. She thought it was supporting animal shelters and buying animals more time to be adopted rather than gassed. Their tactics are brilliant, but subversive. I bet the majority of donors are well-meaning folks who care about animals, but were DUPED!

dfn777-your spot on--My aged aunt(now 97) lived in DC and was a retired Lt Col in Army--For years she volenteered at shelters- gave to salvation army etc etc- Then HSUS got on the wolf savng band wagon- spreading all manner of BS about our wolf control program in Alaska. Luyckily she called me before giving and after I explained what was up she didn'y give them a nickel Good there BUT what about the other folks who didn't check? Most likely they were duped and that's why HSUS has so much $$- They ain't no fools.
