The silver works best with GU's and would guess it would work well with others also

It's true, doesn't work well below freezing.

 

I think it'd be really interesting to do a side by side experiment w/ the various products. Put one product in one winger, another in the other. See if they hold up as long as the GDS.... because I'm usually looking for bargains, but to be honest, it's a pita to restring mine more often than I have to!

That said the theraband silver holds up as well as anything I have used. Now we don't freeze very often so I can't speak to the cold issue with it, but I would guess most rubber gets a little "funny" below freezing.
Also regardless of what kind you use keep them out of the sunlight (not when using them of course) but don't leave them in the back of an open truck or trailer or store them outside because the sun shorten the life of most rubber of this type

 

It is very close to the strenght of regular heavy duty winger tubing. How ever they do make a extra heavy duty rubber that will throw much harder. You can tell by looking at the hle in the center . It is much smaller making the wall thicker and stronger.
