Is there a test to determine a myopathy carrier????

Also is there an information base somewhere with this information on genetic problems in pedigrees???

Great post Henry V and Sue L. I'd like to hear more about fold placement in relation to other diseases.

Angie
No and No......but lots of threats of lawsuits.

There are plenty of carriers of myopathy being bred currently.

And rightly so. We warned you about that last avatar, but then you outdone yerself. Good lookin' gams will only give you so much capitol, but it seems you have spent most of it on your current suma wrestler. Do your children know of your fettish?

UB...who's really done it now. Hijacking a thread by the Queen of the Northwest Passage may have gone too far. Just so Jerry doesn't think I'm pickin' on his wimmen again. But then, he's into crack.

For you Unca Bill.....I've changed my avatar. Want you to notice the "Christmas Spirit" too....

Wow, thanks Lee. I'm not worthy. Surely Santa will have a special gift for you.

But then it must be hard to find something suitable for the Queen of the Northwest eh? Could I interest you in a bikini to go along with your buddy's speedos?

UB...that damned J.D. is getting me in too deep.

To avoid liability problems, how about knowlegeble people listing some lines without known problems!! I don't have the time, or the knowledge to illiminate known carriers. Even though you may have an interest in carrier lines as most do, an honest admission at this point may be a matrix for future breeding of this most admiral dog.

It would seem to me that around the world genetic problems are the ban of our loved labradors.

All the same, I would cull hard as difficult as it would be. I would certainly do at least a test mating or two (that is why I have kept a sibling to a bitch I plan to bred).

Also marking is of primary importance. I have no experience with retinal dysplasia for example, but the relationship between great markers and so so markers with the condition would be a concern. In humans, 80% ?? of sensory perception is gained through eyesight.

I wonder how many dogs are washed because of eye problems rather than lack of desire. Even use poor humans need glasses.
